Member of the National Committee for Epidemics Munir Abu Hilala Wednesday said Jordan has been witnessing a decrease in the numbers of COVID-19 cases and deaths, but it is still too early to reduce health and safety measures, and citizens' compliance remains important.

As for the Pfizer vaccine, Abu Hilala said the main problem is its modern technology and the fact that Britain continues to issue warnings related to it. He pointed out that the late arrival of the Pfizer vaccine in Jordan is a 'good thing.'

He said that without knowing when the vaccine will arrive, and in what quantities, it is too early to determine which groups will be vaccinated first.

Abu Hilala said he was optimistic about the Chinese vaccine, which has been approved by a number of Gulf countries. He said the results are promising and reassuring.

Abu Hilala said receiving the vaccine does not mean the end of the coronavirus crisis, but it will strengthen Jordan's ability to confront the COVID-19 pandemic.
