Jared Kushner, US President Donald Trump's son-in-law and advisor, will travel next week to the Israeli Occupation and Morocco to discuss the normalizing of relations between the two countries, a US official told AFP Tuesday.

The same source said that the American delegation headed by Kushner will take the first direct commercial flight between Tel Aviv and Rabat.

Kushner is expected to arrive in the Israeli Occupation Monday.

With the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Sudan, Morocco has become the fourth Arab country since August to pledge to establish diplomatic relations with the Hebrew state, noting that it had previously established formal relations with Israel in the late 1990s.

And the new agreement was announced by Trump last week, in parallel with Washington’s recognition of Rabat’s sovereignty over Western Sahara.

This former Spanish colony is contested by Morocco and the Polisario Front, which has the support of Algeria.
