Father of Jordanian attacked in Indiana tells Roya new details about incident

The father of Hussam al-Maayah, the Jordanian man who was shot at eight times during a robbery in the US state of Indiana, told Roya Tuesday that his son was shot three times in his stomach, twice in his arm, and once in his jaw.

Maayah had a jaw operation, and the doctor who performed the operation described it as one of the most 'difficult' operations he'd ever performed.

The father said that thus far American authorities have not informed him about the arrest of the perpetrators. However, he said that the Jordanian embassy has contacted him daily to check on Hussam's condition, and to follow up with the latest developments in the incident.

He said that his son went to buy dinner, and two men followed him home, after which they fired at him eight times. They managed to steal his watch, his wallet, and his phone, in addition to other items found in his car.
