Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh Monday said the coronavirus vaccine will not be compulsory. The World Health Organization's (WHO) scale will be used to prioritize medical staff, those who suffer from diseases and elderly citizens.

Shtayyeh said lockdowns and all other preventive measures are being imposed based on scientific and medical rationale. Confronting the coronavirus crisis is not just the government's responsibility but a national, social and individual responsibility, he said.
