The Ministry of Health Monday announced that it will launch a new electronic platform next week for those who wish to register to receive the coronavirus vaccine.

The director of the national immunization program at the ministry Kamel Abu Sel said the ministry is looking into giving the covid-19 vaccine to those aged 60 and over, who suffer from chronic diseases.

The ministry intends on distributing the vaccine to this category in different stages, based on the number of chronic diseases they suffer from. This group of people is estimated to include approximately 900,000 people.

Abu Sel said the first batch of the vaccine, consisting of 200 thousand doses, will arrive in the Kingdom at the beginning of 2021.

Every company excludes certain people from receiving the vaccine, noting that the Pfizer vaccine should not be given to pregnant women and people who suffer from severe allergies.
