The first parliamentary session held by the House of Representatives to elect members of the permanent office Thursday showed a lack of adherence to COVID-19 precautionary measures, including social distancing and wearing face masks.

Representatives gathered near the ballot box and between the seats, which prompted the Senior MP Nawaf Al-Khawaldeh, to halt all votes until the MPs adhered to the measures.

The General Secretariat of the Council allocated certain seats covered with white fabrics to ensure the efficient distances between the representatives, but a large number did not comply.
