The Public Security Directorate (PSD) warned Jordanians Tuesday against tampering with vehicle license plates, saying it is a serious security breach.

During an interview with the PSD radio, the representative of the Traffic Department said that all measures specified by the law will be taken if vehicle owners fail to install legal number plates or travel without number plates according to the provisions of the Traffic Law.

He explained that installing number plates on vehicles within what the law ensures public safety, as the license plates provide references for the identity of vehicle owners, in addition to traffic and security records.
