The University of Jordan (JU) Monday participated in the 6th General Assembly of the Silk Road Universities Network (SUN). The aim of the virtual meeting was to discuss the activities carried out by members of the Network over the past five years, as well as examine financial and administrative reports. A new president for the next five years was also elected, according to a statement by the university.

The representative of JU in the meeting Salameh Naimat told Petra News that they presented a report about the Silk Road's importance and contribution to multiculturalism, peace and prosperity across the world. The Silk Road has always been a valuable resource for historians of the 21st century to understand the nature of relations between the East and the West, he said.

JU is one of the founding members of the SUN, which is non-governmental, non-profit international organization, based in Korea. The SUN includes 82 universities from across the globe.
