Saturday, Preventive Medicine and Epidemiology Consultant Munir Abu Hilaleh spoke to Roya about the proposed COVID-19 vaccines, stating that he disagrees with the legal immunity given to vaccine manufacturers against COVID-19.

During his statements to Roya, he said that he is unsure about the Pfizer vaccine effectiveness in the long run.

However, there are continuing reports of companies and countries confirming the efficacy of their coronavirus vaccines, with some actually starting the early stages of the process of vaccinating citizens, said Abu Hilaleh.

The fears of the vaccine are the result of rumors issued on social media, he added, stressing that these fears are not justified.

The Pfizer vaccine was given to some people with cancer and chronic diseases, and it was effective. He indicated that when giving the vaccine to any specific groups in Jordan, health institutions will make sure it is safe for those who are given it.

The vaccine will arrive in Jordan mid-January to early February, he said.
