The Minister of Health Nathir Obeidat, said Saturday during Roya’s Nabd Al-Balad program that Jordan is still at the heart of the pandemic battle, but that things have begun to improve significantly.

Obeidat added that the measures taken by the government and the commitment of citizens in the past weeks have had a great impact on the improvement of the COVID-19 situation in Jordan.

He said that the total lockdown on Friday will continue until the end of the year, after which an assessment will be conducted to possibly continue it.

The Minister of Health hinted that restaurants could be allowed to operate delivery services on Friday.

Obeidat indicated that the return of students to their schools should be systematic, meaning that students return gradually and not completely.

He also said that the first batch of the Pfizer vaccine will arrive in Jordan at the beginning of next year, amounting to 200,000 doses.

Obeidat confirmed that the vaccine will be provided free of charge to citizens and residents, and will be non-compulsory.

He pointed out that it is too early to talk about the end of the pandemic, and no one can predict when the crisis will end.
