The field hospital at Prince Hamzah hospital will be ready to receive COVID-19 patients in mid-January, said the Minister of Public Works and Housing Yahya al-Kasabi Friday.
During an inspection visit to the hospital, Kasabi said the ministry is doing all that it can to open the hospital as soon as possible.
The ministry signed an agreement with the contractor to ensure the sustainability of these hospitals for the next 20 years.
He added that these hospitals will continue operating after the coronavirus crisis ends and that they can be relocated and used anywhere across the Kingdom.
The field hospital currently being built near Prince Hamzah Hospital has 400 beds, 80 of which are intensive care beds.
