Palestine confirms 17 deaths and 1,968 new coronavirus cases

Palestine recorded 17 deaths and 1,968 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaileh Friday.

The new deaths involved 10 in the West Bank, and seven in Gaza Strip. The recovery rate in Palestine stands at 76.5 percent, while the active case rate is 22.7 percent and the death rate is 0.8 percent.

The new coronavirus cases include 211 in Hebron; 204 in Nablus; 116 in Bethlehem; 37 in Qalqilya; 158 in Ramallah and Al-Bireh; 185 in Jenin; 11 in Jericho and Al-Aghwar; 72 in Salfit; 98 in Tulkarem; 43 in Tubas; 788 in Gaza Strip; and 45 in the suburbs of Jerusalem.

The recovery cases include 143 in Hebron; 110 in Jenin; 105 in Tulkarem; 148 in Ramallah and Al-Bireh; 74 in Salfit; 12 in Jericho and al-Aghwar; 141 in Bethlehem; 746 in Gaza Strip; and 178 in the suburbs of Jerusalem.

Currently, 71 people are in the Intensive Care Unit and 20 are on ventilators.

Friday, a total of 8,047 PCR tests have been conducted.
