A member of the National Committee for Epidemics, Bassam Hijjawi told Roya's Nabd Albalad Tuesday that the 24-hour total lockdown on Fridays helped to reduce the number of coronavirus cases in Jordan.
Hijjawi added that Jordan will not return to recording high number of cases.
Eariler Tuesday, the Ministry of Health Nathir Obeidat said that field hospitals will start receiving COVID-19 patients in the middle of December, adding that the government is currently working on getting coronavirus vaccines from different sources.
Jordan recorded 51 deaths and 4,187 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the crisis to 223,617.
