A total of 15 doctors infected with coronavirus are currently receiving treatment in Intensive Care Units, five of whom are on respirators, announced the acting Doctors' Syndicate Mohamad Rasul Tarawneh Tuesday.

In a statement to Amen FM Tarawneh said, 18 Jordanian doctors have died from COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic in March, adding that infections among medical staff are increasing due to the increase in the number of coronavirus cases in Jordan.

He added that since March, hundreds of doctors in Jordan have tested positive for the virus.

Tarawneh called on the medical staff to be very careful when dealing with the infected cases.
