Friday, the Lebanese Ministry of Education announced the reopening of schools in Lebanon Monday and the adoption of a blended education, based on meetings held by special committees formed to follow up on the coronavirus epidemic.

Blended learning is an approach to education which combines online distance learning with traditional classroom methods.

Caretaker Minister of Education, Tariq Al-Majzoub, said in a statement, "Blended education is re-accredited in educational institutions, both official and private (...) starting Monday morning in all regions, and the decisions (...) regarding the application of integrated education and the implementation of the health guide procedures [has been] issued by Ministry of Education."

Lebanon is currently in a total lockdown which ends Sunday evening. The Lebanese government has indicated that decisions may be made to re-open some sectors while tightening preventative measures and related fines in order to limit the spread of COVID-19.
