The Jordanian government's daily COVID-19 announcement no longer includes a reminder to use the Aman mobile application, the Ministry of Health's official coronavirus exposure detection app.

The government previously announced that individuals who do not have the application downloaded onto their phones should not be allowed into governmental buildings and other public places. The decision has since been withdrawn.

It seems that the decision was withdrawn after the Minister of Health Nathir Obeidat said Sunday that the application no longer provides the desired benefits, as the number of positive cases of COVID-19 in the Kingdom continues to increase.

Among the other changes made to the daily coronavirus announcement is the addition of the rate of PCR tests conducted per one million, as well as the rate of positive cases per one million. The announcement also now includes the percentage of occupied hospital beds, ICU beds and ventilators.
