The Chinese Embassy in Jordan announced Tuesday that Jordanians traveling to China are exempted from the immunoglobulin antibodies test (IgM) until it is available in the Kingdom.

The decision from the embassy enables Jordanians to board flights to China.

The IgM test measures the amount of antibodies in the blood, which are proteins produced by the immune system to fight off viruses and bacteria. If a person has coronavirus antibodies in their blood, then it is likely that they had COVID-19.

Jordanian travelers transiting through other countries must complete the IgM test and include it within the required medical documents. These documents must be submitted to the Chinese embassy or consulate in the transit country to obtain the medical certificate that allows travelers to continue the journey to China.
