The King Abdullah Teaching Hospital inaugurated an additional intensive care unit (ICU) designated for COVID-19 patients with a capacity of 20 beds, said the General Director of King Abdullah University Hospital (KAUH) Muhammad Al-Ghazo Thursday.

The unit was established due to the increase in the number of coronavirus cases in the Kingdom and the urgent need for ICU beds. The addition brings the total number of ICU beds for COVID-19 patients at KAUH to 55, he added.
