Jordan records 60 deaths and 7,933 new COVID-19 cases

Jordan has recorded 60 deaths and 7,933 new coronavirus cases Wednesday, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis to 163,926.

The number of COVID-19 deaths in Jordan now totals 1,969.

The cases are: 

  • 2,412 in Amman
  • 998 in Irbid, including 230 in Ramtha
  • 522 in Zarqa
  • 347 in Karak
  • 144 in Ma'an, including 70 in Petra
  • 65 in Tafilah
  • 1,893 in Aqaba
  • 708 in Jerash
  • 379  in Balqa
  • 291 in Madaba
  • 127 in Mafraq
  • 47 in Ajloun
A total of 248 cases have been admitted to the hospitals, and 214 have been discharged upon recovery.

A total of 4,629 recoveries have been recorded from hospitals and home quarantine, bringing the total amount of recoveries since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis to 94,896.

There are 2,134  patients receiving treatment in hospitals, including 473 in the Intensive Care Units.

A total of 30,792 PCR tests have been conducted Wednesday, bringing the total number of tests conducted since the beginning of the crisis to 2,268,734.

Wednesday, 25.8 percent of PCR tests have come back positive.
