Jordan records 68 deaths and 2,373 new COVID-19 cases

Jordan has recorded 68 deaths and 2,373 new coronavirus cases Sunday, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis to 143,678.

The number of COVID-19 deaths in Jordan now totals 1,772.

The cases are: 

  • 1,245 in Amman
  • 168 in Zarqa
  • 118 in Ajloun
  • 95 in Tafilah
  • 49 in Ma'an, including 1 in Petra
  • 47 in Aqaba
  • 269 in Irbid, including 27 in Ramtha
  • 139 in Madaba
  • 115 in Jerash
  • 54 in Balqa
  • 48 in Karak
  • 26 in Mafraq

A total of 243 cases have been admitted to the hospitals, and 188 have been discharged upon recovery.

There are 2,116 patients receiving treatment in hospitals, including 447 in the Intensive Care Units.

A total of 9,583 PCR tests have been conducted Sunday, bringing the total number of tests conducted since the beginning of the crisis to 2,184,026.

Sunday, 24.8 percent of PCR tests have come back positive.
