Five deaths, 643 new coronavirus cases in Palestine

Palestine has recorded five deaths and 643 new COVID-19 cases over the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kileh Wednesday.

The deaths reported involved four in West Bank and one in Gaza Strip.

The recovery rate stands at 88.4 percent, while the active cases rate is 10.8 percent and the death rate is 0.8 percent.

The new coronavirus cases included 48 in Hebron; 132 in Nablus; 24 in Bethlehem; 14 in Qalqilya; 38 in Ramallah and Al-Bireh; 32 in Jenin; eight in Jericho and Al-Aghwar; 20 in Salfit; 17 in Tulkarem; six in Tubas; 300 in Gaza Strip; and four in the suburbs of Jerusalem.

A total of 801 recovery cases have been recorded involving 65 in Hebron; 59 in Jenin; 139 in Nablus; 26 in Tulkarem; one in Qalqilya; 235 in Bethlehem; and 260 in Gaza Strip.

Currently, 40 people are in the Intensive Care Unit and 11 are on ventilators.

A total of 5,106 PCR tests have been conducted.
