The Cabinet called on citizens for a heavy turnout Tuesday across the Kingdom to choose their representatives in the 19th Jordanian parliament.

The Minister of Justice Bassam Talhouni said participation in the elections serves the cause of justice and human rights since the parliament is the authority that proposes and passes legislation. He stressed that the national duty compels him as a citizen to exercise his constitutional right to vote.

The Minister of Local Administration Tawfiq Kreishan said he came to perform his constitutional right and be "at the side of the country".

The Minister of Transport Marwan Kheitan urged voters to cast their votes while ensuring adherence to health and safety measures amid the coronavirus crisis.

Kheitan said the government was concerned over possible crowding but citizens have shown commitment to precautionary measures.

The Minister of State Mahmoud Kharabsheh called on voters to elect a parliament that is capable of handling this 'critical stage'.

The Minister of Environment Nabil Masarweh called on eligible voters, particularly youth, to participate in the 19 parliamentary elections to elect a parliament capable of representing youth and to engage them in the decision-making process.
