Inspections by the Medical Devices and Supplies Directorate at the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) seized 5,000 cosmetic items found in an unlicensed factory in Marka, said the general director of the JFDA Nizar Mhaidat Monday.

Mhaidat explained that the factory is producing the beauty products in bad manufacturing conditions, while disregarding health requirements and standards set by the JFDA. Some of the products also include unknown ingredients that may contain prohibited substances based on the administration's standard, which could harm consumers' health.

The JFDA will not tolerate such violations and will take measures against those in charge of the manufacturing site, he said. Specialized inspection teams will carry out field visits around the clock to ensure sites obtain the necessary licenses and adhere to official health and safety requirements, and protect the health and safety of employees.

The JFDA called on citizens to submit any complaints or comments by calling their official toll-free 24-hour line 117114. Citizens can also contact them via email at [email protected] or Whatsapp at ‪0795632000‬‬.
