Ear congestion is an uncommon symptom of coronavirus but has been detected among a significant proportion of COVID-19 patients, announced the Russian Central Research Institute of Epidemiology Thursday.

Deputy Director of clinical and analytical work Natalia Pshenichnaya said a study conducted by Turkish scientists, involving 172 COVID-19 patients, looked at the symptoms that people who tested positive for coronavirus suffered from. Eighteen percent of participants complained about ear congestion, which was also detected in 12 percent of mild COVID-19 cases, reported Russia Today.

Patients should consult their physicians if the ear congestion continues to bother them for more than a few days.
