Rapper Kanye West voted for himself in the US presidential election after a campaign with little chance to contest, which was marked by haphazard statements and speculation that he might draw some Black voters from Democratic candidate Joe Biden.

The singer and clothes designer seemed to admit that his 2020 race was over, indicating that the matter is over for him following a picture he posted of himself in front of an electoral map, saying "Kanye 2024”.

Kanye West wrote on Twitter Wednesday, "For the first time in my life, I vote for a president of the United States, for someone I really trust ... me."

West, 43, visited polling stations in a few states but did not visit any of the crucial states such as Florida, Pennsylvania and Michigan.

He spent the past weeks instructing his supporters how to vote for him as a candidate whose name was not on the ballot.

West's wife, Kim Kardashian, apparently did not support his campaign nor publicly showed any support for him.

However, Kardashian re-posted a tweet with a message on voter hotlines from Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris.
