The Public Security Directorate (PSD) has previously announced the issuing of violations against those who disobey public health measures according to the Defense Laws.

Owners of authorized establishments are required to work with utmost caution to abide by the health measures, in addition employees and customers are urged to wear masks and gloves.

According to Defense Order No. 11, every person must adhere to social distancing and commit to wearing masks and gloves before entering public institutions or places that provide direct services in public.

Individuals who violate these orders will be penalized with a fine ranging from JOD 20 to 50.

Establishments who violate these orders will be penalized with a fine of not less than JOD 100 and no more than JOD 200. The facility will be closed for a period of 14 days.

Prosection will take place if individuals or establishments fail to pay these fines within the permitted times.

In a press release, PSD explained that the reported violations will be referred to the public prosecutor in the Amman Court.

They emphasized that the tightening of procedures against violators is to protect society and individuals, after witnessing a lack of adherence in implementing health measures in public facilities and places.

All ranks of public security employees in all governorates will begin issuing violations against individuals who disobey the Defense Law in public facilities, places, markets and shops, added PSD.

This announcement was based on decisions of the Minister of Interior and in accordance with the Defense Law.
