The Israeli occupation government obtained official approval from the Emirati authorities to export fresh agricultural products to the UAE, reported the Hebrew media Friday. The occupation's Ministry of Agriculture hopes that farmers will start exporting to the new destination in November.

The Ministry released a statement Thursday saying: "Following a concerted effort that included talks, exchanges of correspondence and coordination with the UAE's Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, Israel has received official approval from the UAE authorities to export fresh agricultural produce and propagating material, including seeds," according to Xinhua news agency.

According the Economic Times, the ministry said export costs will be low due to the geographical proximity and different logistical options to transport the goods.

The UAE is the third Arab country to formally normalize its relationship with Tel Aviv, followed by Bahrain and Sudan. It is also the first country from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to normalize relations and there are widespread expectations that other Arab countries will soon do the same.

There has been secret communication between the UAE and the occupying state for years, but details about the normalization remained secret until the last minute.
