The head of the Health Committee at the National Center for Human Rights Ibrahim Al-Badour said Jordan has wasted eight months of opportunities to strengthen the local health system, equip it with the necessary equipment and hire additional healthcare providers.
"We are in a battle that requires planning and combining all efforts to survive this crisis", he said.
Coronavirus continues to spread across the Kingdom and the whole world, which a weak health system cannot withstand, he added.
"The state cannot impose long-term lockdowns for reasons that everyone knows," especially since the Kingdom is approaching a total of 500 deaths and 50,000 new COVID-19 cases, since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis, sad Bdour.
He believes the government should act fast by coming up with a plan and specific timeframe to tackle the coronavirus crisis.
He suggested establishing a field hospital with a large number of beds and equipment, including ventilators, to accommodate for the increasing number of coronavirus patients.
