Jordan records 27 deaths and 2,489 new COVID-19 cases

Jordan has recorded 27 deaths and 2,489 new coronavirus cases on Friday, 2,487 of which are local cases, bringing the total number of cases since the beginning of the crisis to 48,930.

The number of COVID-19 deaths now totals 508.

The cases are:

  • 1,416 in Amman
  • 321 in Irbid, 139 in Ramtha
  • 256 in Zarqa
  • 179 in Karak
  • 101 in Madaba
  • 77 in Balqa
  • 66 in Jerash
  • 31 in Aqaba 
  • 19 in Mafraq
  • 15 in Ma'an, four in Petra
  • Five in Tafilah
  • One in Ajloun
  • Two cases involving Jordanian truck drivers who arrived in the Kingdom through Al-Omari Border Crossing.

A total of 105 recovery cases have been recorded in the Kingdom on Friday.

A total of 17,067 PCR tests have been conducted, bringing the total number of PCR tests conducted since the beginning of the crisis to 1,683,236.
