A young Egyptian man from Dakahlia, Mansoura, Muhammad Sabah has died while making his way to perform ablution in order to pray Thursday.
According to the 'Youm7' website, eyewitnesses saw Sabah going to “perform ablution in order to pray next to the ferry boats near the Nadi Mosque on the Corniche, [and] he fell into the water and drowned”.
Activists on social media said, "The young Muhammad Sabah worked in a store specializing in selling household items”.
They also added that “his feet slipped while on his way to perform ablution near a mosque on the Nile".
River rescue forces in Dakahlia were able to retrieve the body of Sabah from the waters of the Nile River and he was transferred to the hospital.
The cause of death was drowning, confirmed the hospital health inspector.
No criminal suspicion was found, according to Public Prosecution.
