The Independent Election Commission (IEC) launched an overnight campaign Thursday to remove all election campaign posters that violate election rules.

The aim is to remove all parliamentary election campaign posters that obstruct traffic visibility, cover traffic signs, are hung on buildings of official institutions, hung carelessly or cover posters of other candidates.

The commission will contact those who violated official guidelines to inform them that their posters have been taken down, sign a pledge vowing not to do it again and fine them for non-compliance.

The commission called on citizens to contact them to report any violations by calling their free number (117100).

The IEC has previously announced that the 19 Parliamentary elections will be held on November 10.
