First coronavirus death has been recorded in Aqaba on Tuesday, announced the city's health director, Saeb Hiyasat.

The new death involved a man in his seventies who had suferred from chronic diseases in addition to COVID-19, Hiyasat added.

The man was admitted to the hospital two weeks ago after he tested positive for the virus.

Aqaba recorded 22 new coronavirus cases on Monday.
