Citizens should not call 911 unless there is an emergency, said the spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD), on Friday.

The announcement was made to enable the PSD to cater to citizens' urgent needs without unnecessary interruptions.

The Jordanian armed forces, the Arab Army, had deployed soldiers to all governorates to ensure compliance with lockdown measures.

The two-day total lockdown started on 1 AM on Friday and is the second weekly 48-hour nationwide lockdown, which was imposed following an increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in Jordan.
