There is currently no evidence that COVID-19 is present in surface or groundwater, or transmitted through drinking water, announced the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, on Sunday.

Accordingly, studies show that it is safe to use groundwater for drinking and various household uses.

However, people must adhere to all COVID-19 health and safety measures which include, social distancing and wearing masks, the ministry added.
