Amman's governor, Saad Shihab, announced that citizens are allowed to leave their houses for one hour from 12am until 1am today, as the total lockdown which was imposed across Jordan for a period of 48 hours, will finish today at 12 am. However, the partial lockdown will start on Sunday at 1am until 6am.

The two-day total lockdown, which started at 12am on Friday, aimed to reduce the number of cases and make the work of COVID-19 investigation teams easier.

Citizens were not allowed to leave their houses, including those who have been issued permits.

The only people excluded from the lockdown were health investigation teams, medical and nursing staff, and a limited number of essential workers in different sectors.

The 48-hour total lockdown will be imposed every weekend until further notice.
