Sirens will be heard across the Kingdom on Thursday between 11 pm and 12 am, to mark the beginning of the 48-hour total lockdown, according to a security source.

The two-day lockdown, on Friday and Saturday, was announced on Tuesday, based on decisions by the Crisis Management Cell, following an increase in the number of positive coronavirus cases and deaths in Jordan.

The 48-hour lockdown decision will be implemented on all coming Fridays and Saturdays until further notice.

However, this decision will not include the COVID-19 investigation teams, medical and nursing personnel and essential workers.
