The Jordanian Armed Forces have started preparing for the 48-hour total lockdown on Friday and Saturday across the Kingdom.

The Arab Army set up checkpoints at governorate entrance and exit points, in cooperation with police forces.

The two-day total lockdown, starting on 12am on Friday, aims to reduce the number of cases and make the work of COVID-19 investigation teams easier.

Citizens are not allowed to leave their houses, including those who have been issued permits.

The only people excluded from the lockdown are health investigation teams, medical and nursing staff, and a limited number of essential workers in different sectors.

The 48-hour total lockdown will be imposed every weekend until further notice.
