The government has imposed a one-week total lockdown in parts of three neighbourhoods in Amman starting 6am on October 7, announced the Committee on Sustainable Work, Production and Supply Chains on Monday.

The isolated areas are located in Salheen, Muqabalain and Umm Nowarah in the capital.

The announcement came following recommendations from the Crisis Management Cell to prevent further spreading of the virus in light of the current COVID-19 situation in these areas and the Kingdom.

The areas to be isolated will be announced on Tuesday.

There is a possibility to extend the lockdown in these areas for longer than seven days.
