The Jordanian Society of Forensic Sciences specialists have violated the Ministry of Health’s burial protocols for coronavirus deaths, said the Minister of Health, Saad Jaber, on Monday.

The Ministry, in cooperation with the concerned authorities, have allocated special sections of Islamic cemeteries for coronavirus death burials.

The graves have special specifications such as fencing around the graves, as well as additional tiling and cement layers.

Only two family members are permitted to attend the burial process of the deceased and the forensic supervisor must be present as well.

Viruses are only alive and active in living cells and do not live in dead bodies for more than a few hours, said the society in a message to Jaber and other concerned authorities.

The body must be cleansed with soap and water and it takes 21 seconds seconds of rubbing to eradicate the virus.

Medical alcohol can also be used, in the soap and water mix.
Clothing should also be washed carefully or disposed of properly.

The society considers it unnecessary to bury the deceased in special sections within cemeteries and alter the thickness of cement walls.

Additionally, there is no need for a forensic supervisor to accompany family members of the deceased during the burial processes.
