Al-Bashir Hospitals will designate the new emergency hospital for coronavirus patients with 150 beds and 50 ventilators, said the Director of Al-Bashir Hospitals, Mahmoud Zureikat, on Sunday.

The government intends on building field hospitals for coronavirus patients, he said.

The decision involves all public hospitals, as the ministry has previously called for increasing capacity to receive coronavirus cases, he added.

The new Oncology Department will continue receiving COVID-19 patients and the hospital is looking into placing 40 ventilators in that section.

The Minister of Health, Saad Jaber, said it is important to designate the Emergency Hospital at Al-Bashir Hospitals to receive COVID-19 patients, due to the increase in the number of cases, he said.

The rest of Al-Bashir Hospitals will continue working and receiving patients, as the hospitals cannot compromise the services offered to other patients.
