The number of coronavirus cases at the Baqaa Camp has reached 250 since the beginning of the pandemic, said the director of Ain Al-Basha Health Center, Rezeq Yaghi, on Saturday.

Yaghi added two people(one in his fifties and one on his eighties) have died from the virus at the camp, noting that they had suffered from chronic diseases. In addition, there is a critical case involving a woman in her seventies at al-Hussein Hospital in Salt, while all other cases are between moderate and minor health conditions.

However, markets inside the camp will be reopened from 9 am to 1 pm starting Saturday.

A one-week total lockdown has been imposed in Baqaa camp, which started on Thursday, October 1, at 6 am. This came based on recommendations from the Crisis Management Cell, on Tuesday.

This decision came after an increase in the number of positive COVID-19 cases in the camp.
