Imposing a total lockdown in Jordan is a decision to be taken by the Coronavirus Crisis Management Cell and National Committee for Epidemics, the head of the coronavirus file at the Health Ministry, Ghazi Sharkas, told Roya on Tuesday.
Sharkas added, the new outbreak of COVID-19 in the country happened due to the lack of adherence to the required health measures, noting that the only way to confront the virus, is by adhering to those measures, closing sectors that violate health protocols and monitoring COVID-19 hotspots to prevent the spread of the virus.
The Ministry of Health has addressed the University of Jordan Hospital, King Abdullah University Hospital, King Hussein Cancer Center(KHCC) and some private hospitals to increase their capacity in order to face any emergency, Sharkas added.
However, hospitals are ready to receive COVID-19 patients in Jordan, he added.
