The Jordanian Armed Forces held a press briefing on Tuesday, at the quarantine areas in the Dead Sea region to talk about the COVID-19 situation in the country.

Quarantine areas in the Dead Sea region have been transformed into a field hospital with a capacity of 2,000 beds, said the Director of Moral Guidance, Talal al-Ghabin.

He added, the current health circumstances prompted the Jordaniain Armed Forces to change their strategy in dealing with the coronavirus crisis.

A total of 9,145 people have been isolated in the quarantine areas in the Dead Sea region since the beginning of the pandemic.

Al-Ghabin added that the cost of isolating COVID-19 patients in those areas, is free of charge and at Jordan's expense.

In addition, he added there are 830 coronavirus patients who are currently staying at those areas, noting that all of them are above 18 and in good health condition.
