All buildings operating under the Greater Amman Municipality have been shut down for a period of 48 hours starting Monday, as announced by the Mayor of Amman, Yousef Al-Shawarbeh, on Sunday.

The decision came after staff members received warning messages from Aman mobile application notifying them that they came into contact with COVID-19 patients.

The facilities have been closed for disinfection purposes and manucipality applied the protocol approved by the government as to maintain public safety requirements as well as protect employees and citizens.

Al-Shawarbeh decided to suspend all administrative units, with the exception of the departments within the Mayor's office.

The Municipality will limit the number of employees to a minimum number and stick to working from home when possible.

The exception also includes the administrative departments and units of the city manager's office.

The directorates and departments whose nature of work requires continuing operating may do so, while reducing the numbers of employees to a minimum and working remotely when possible.
