Friday prayer will be held in mosques if the government does not issue new COVID-19 health restrictions, announced the Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Mohammad al-Khalaileh, on Sunday.

The decision to close mosques in Jordan was recommended by the National Committee for Epidemics and the Ministry of Health, to prevent the spread of corona virus, al-Khalaileh added.

Jordan has recorded 850 new COVID-19 cases on Saturday, 830 of which are local cases.
