The King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba has received the first international flight arriving from the Arab Republic of Egypt, said the Aqaba Airports Company CEO and director of King Hussein International Airport, Nasser Al-Majali, on Thursday.

The airport is ready to receive many international flights from many different countries while complying with health and safety procedures recommended by the Ministry of Health and the Civil Aviation Authority, he said.

The airport has met all requirements and completed all preperations to start receiving flights and international internal air traffic between Amman and Aqaba last June, he added.

Majali explained that all decisions were made based on requirements and approvals from the Jordanian Civil Aviation Authority to prevent the spread of COVID-19 as well as protect the health of travelers and airport employees.
