Five deaths, 557 new COVID-19 cases in Palestine

Palestine has recorded 557 new COVID-19 cases and five deaths over the past 24 hours, announced the Palestinian Health Minister, Mai al-Kaila, on Tuesday.

The deaths involve a 68-year-old man in Qalqilya, a 54-year-old man in in Ramallah and Bireh, a 85-year-old in Jenin, a 59-year-old woman in Tubas and another citizen in in Jerusalem.

The recovery rate stands at 72.1%, while the active cases rate is 27.2%, and the death rate is 0.7%.

The new coronavirus cases included: 39 in Hebron, 72 in Nablus, 59 in Bethlehem, 37 in Qalqilya, 38 in Ramallah and Bireh, 25 in Jenin, 12 in Salfit, 10 in Jericho and Aghwar, 81 in Tulkaram, eight in Tubas, 45 in Gaza Strip, three in the Suburbs of Jerusalem and 128 in Jerusalem City.

A total of 1,142 recovery cases were recorded in Palestine: 198 in Hebron, 55 in Jenin, 43 in Tulkarem, 46 in Qalqilya, 249 in Nablus, 54 in Tubas, 301 in the Suburbs of Jerusalem, 101 in Jerusalem City and 95 in Gaza Strip.

A total of 4,978 PCR tests have been conducted on Tuesday. 

Currently, 41 cases are in the Intensive Care Unit and eight are on ventilators.

Citizens who have got tested for coronavirus can inquire about their tests by visiting https://result.moh.ps and searching for their ID number.

Test results will be available eight hours after the PCR test is done.
