Eight new COVID-19 cases were recorded in Balqa, announced the city's governor, Nayef al-Hajaya, on Sunday.

The new cases involve people who came into contact with other positive cases. Six of the cases were recorded in Ain al-Basha, one in Fuheis and one in Deir Alla, al-Hajaya told Jordan News Agency (PETRA).

In addition, all cases were taken to quarantine areas in the Dead Sea region, their houses were isolated and samples were taken from everyone who came into contact with the infected, al-Hajaya added.

In Mafraq, two new COVID-19 cases were recorded on Sunday, involving people who came into contact with positive cases, said the city's governor, Yaser al-Idwan. 

Al-Idwan added that the houses of the infected will be isolated and samples will be taken from anyone they came into contact with.
