Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices: Coronavirus has spread across the country

Coronavirus has spread across the country, the number of cases is increasing, said the head of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, Wael Al Hayajneh, on Sunday.

There is significant number of cases whose source is still unknown, which is a sign of a societal spread of the virus in Jordan.

Jordan came in the eighty-ninth place in the list of safest countries in terms of fighting COVID-19, for the third month in a row, he added.

It is better to look at the number of cases on a weekly basis rather than daily basis, and that the daily numbers vary and there are many contributing factors.

He said the number of cases is increasing and will continue to increase in the coming few days.

Regarding vaccinations, Hayajneh said there is no national program for a coronavirus vaccine and there is no commercial COVID-19 vaccine available anywhere in the world yet.
