A 75-year-old woman has died from coronavirus at Jordan University Hospital in Amman, announced the Director General of the Jordan University Hospital, Abdul Aziz Al-Ziyadat, on Sunday.

The deceased suffered from chronic diseases including hypertension, diabetes, gout and seasonal allergies.

She was admitted to the hospital at noon on Friday and had pneumonia symptoms, low oxygen-levels and a fever, he added.

She was isolated and transferred to the Intensive Care Department (ICU), where she was put on breathing support.

She suffered from respiratory complications on Saturday night and stopped responding to the treatment, which led to cardiac arrest.
